The lawns are sprawling, the staff are super, and should you have tired of Sri Lankan food a little at this stage, they have four restaurants, including one that serves Thai (and that’s the one we picked). Service was a little slow, but we just took it as a much-needed city dwellers lesson in how to sit back, chill out, and enjoy the pace of non-city life.

Start your meal as all good meals should begin, with a cocktail. The margaritas are wonderful and a great foil to a fresh Thai salad and a ginormous bowl of pad thai.
