Nicobar opens their second store in Mumbai

Mumbai gets the second Nicobar store in a colonial style heritage villa – the famed Patkar bungalow built in the late 1920s. Nicobar Bandra abandons the conventional open plan retail space, for a more quaint and cosy home experience where one moves from chamber to chamber as if moving through one’s own personal space. The 1200 sq feet store has distinct seven rooms displaying Nicobar’s design range traverses clothing, home and travel. Expect to be welcomed by earthy Shahabad stone, warm timbre, beautiful high ceilings and an eclectic mix of found furniture, handmade extras, and artisanal cane work, all designed to lend character and add to the store’s coastal appeal. The homeware room mimics a potter’s studio with potter’s shelves stacked with goods. Next is the travelers room, with windows overlooking lush palms, a library of books, and a community table to settle down for a bit of work or a chat, this is a room is designed to linger in. In keeping with the brand’s community spirit, the room is also intended for workshops, conversations and
happy gatherings.
