Nicobar is opening a second store in Mumbai and here’s a sneak peek

In the one year since its launch, Nicobar has become synonymous with contemporary, chic and minimal designs. Founded by husband and wife duo, Raul Rai and Simran Lal’s, the brand made its big debut in the art district of Mumbai – Kala Ghoda, followed by stores in Delhi, Bengaluru and Jodhpur. They are now set to open their latest outpost at Bandra’s Patkar Bungalow. “I am so happy we are opening Nicobar here in Bandra because it is the combination of the energy of the people here and being so close to the sea, that it makes for the perfect spot for Nicobar,” says Lal.

Nestled in the colonial style heritage villa, expect to be welcomed by earthy Shahabad stone, warm timber, beautiful high ceilings and an eclectic mix of furniture, handmade accessories and artisanal cane work which all lend character and to the label’s laid-back vibe. Spread across a spacious 1200 square feet, the store’s seven rooms span three segments: homeware, travel and fashion.

The décor section mimics a potter’s studio and displays a potter’s shelves stacked with goods. Find cushions and other home accessories that people can mix and match to best suit their personal aesthetic.

In the travellers’ room, there will also be a library brimming with books and a large community table to enjoy a leisurely cup of coffee between shopping. Whereas the style room offers a more intimate space where you can take your time deciding what to buy.
